The celebration

From the city to the savannah. June 12–15 — here's what to expect.

Note: This will be an Indian wedding, but please dress however feels most comfortable for you. We'd love to see you in Indian attire if you'd like to wear it, and will send more guidance closer to the day — but absolutely no pressure, come as you are!

Events

Ceremony, party & events

Day 1

Welcome Party

Pickled
Evening, June 12

What is this? A party for all our friends and family to meet at one of our favorite restaurants in Nairobi

Dress code: Casual, with a tropical theme as a nod to the tropical half-island country where Josh and Prerna met (vibrant colors such as coral, palm green, sunset orange or patterns such as florals, palm leaves, batik, etc.)

Day 2

Haldi, Mehendi, and pre-wedding sundowner

Taita Hills Safari Lodge
Afternoon, June 14

What is this? Pre-wedding rituals include the haldi, where turmeric paste is applied for good luck and glowing skin (we'll need it!), and the mehendi, where henna designs are applied to the couple — and guests too! Expect fun, games, and a relaxed sundowner.

Dress code: Bright and festive, pastels and light colors are encouraged

Day 3

Wedding and Celebration Party

Taita Hills Safari Lodge
Afternoon, June 15

What is this? The big day, followed by a celebration party!
