Note: This will be an Indian wedding, but please wear whatever feels most comfortable for you. We'd love to see you in Indian attire if you'd like to wear it, and will send more guidance closer to the day — but absolutely no pressure, come as you are!
Ceremony, party & events
Welcome Party
Pickled Bar and Restaurant
Evening, June 12
What is this? A party for all our friends and family to meet at one of our favorite restaurants in Nairobi
Dress code: Casual, with a tropical theme as a nod to the tropical half-island country where Josh and Prerna met (vibrant colors such as coral, palm green, sunset orange or patterns such as florals, palm leaves, batik, etc.)
What happens on June 13? Choose whichever suits you:
Option A — travel down on the 13th and enjoy a leisurely day before celebrations begin the afternoon of the 14th. 3 nights at the venue.
Option B — enjoy a day in Nairobi on the 13th, then catch an early train (7am) on the 14th to arrive in time. 2 nights at the venue.
See Accommodation for booking details.
Haldi, Mehendi, and pre-wedding sundowner
Taita Hills Safari Lodge
Afternoon, June 14
What is this? Pre-wedding rituals include the haldi, where turmeric paste is applied for good luck and glowing skin (we'll need it!), and the mehendi, where henna designs are applied to the couple — and guests too! Expect fun, games, and a relaxed sundowner.
Dress code: Bright and festive, pastels and light colors are encouraged
Wedding and Celebration Party
Taita Hills Safari Lodge
Afternoon, June 15
